So democracy sucks huh Democrats? This is a TERRIBLE precedent so that when the Republicans are in the minority and they don't like how the Democrats are running the table and controlling the floor of the House (there are no filibusters allowed in the lower house of Congress, like in the Senate), and deciding what bills make it to the floor for debate, they can throw the same temper tantrum and bring the House's business to a halt, by engaging in such disruptive and undemocratic actions.

This does not bode well for the future legislative business of the House of Representatives. The Democrats do this kind of shut down, shut up and sit down to the Republicans in my state of California, where they have a super majority, and they completely dominate and control the legislative process.

If they want to have the power, they are going to have to win the House back through the ballot box. I think those House members should be arrested and charged with a Federal crime of intentionally interfering with the legislative business of the House of representatives. This is not a legitimate excercise of your legislative duties as an elected official as a House of Representative Member. What's next? Fist fights among Members of Congress when you don't get what you want on the floor?

SCPO Jason McLaughlin - Yea I didn't hear Republicans shouting the kind of "fighting words" at Democrats over an oil and gas issue, that the totally out of control on Gun Control Democrats are hurling these days. "So you want to give guns to Terrorists?" and many other types of vile invective hurled by these Democrats from their silly position sitting on the floor of the House, like children who don't get their way.

This is Democratic Election year politics at their worst, take no prisoners. The people spoke in 2014 and they returned to the House a Republican Majority, rejecting among many things, the Democratic stupidity when it comes to the type of Gun Control I live under here in California. Now they crassly see an opening to shove their type of gun control down our throats due to what happened in Orlando.

If the Republicans lose the White House this year, it is only because they could not put forward a better candidate to run against the crooked and Dishonest Hillary (and her disbarred former attorney Husband Bill-yes its a package deal we all know that Bill Clinton is not coming to the white house to be a passive First Husband - or whatever they are going to call him - but he is coming to the White House to be Hillary's number one advisor on foreign and domestic policy - completely unaccountable to Congress or any other check on his power and influence- another reason Hillary should not be elected president ) than Donald Trump- a self-inflicted wound.

Capt Lance Gallardo - The people "spoke" in 2012 when Obama won a landslide victory. The people have been gerrymandered into silence during mid-term elections.

That's response is so typical of Democratic Hacks-its all due to gerrymandering, not a rejection of Democratic policies and their irrational "gun control" policies when it comes to "Sensible Gun control" as they try to spin it.

None of the multitude of laws that Gun Grabbing Democrats in Sacramento have imposed on Californians and infringed on the 2A rights of Californians to defend themselves with the most current recently designed and released best handguns on the market (or banning standard capacity more than ten round magazines) have had ANY effect on gun crime or the criminal classes from getting and using guns in gun crimes and violence. California Gun Crime is way up, as are gun related homicides.

The Democratic "feel good gun laws" do however significantly restrict law abiding citizens 2A rights. So as a homeowner (unlike the California police who come to crime calls wearing body armor, and carrying a minimum of three high capacity magazines-they are exempted from the 10 round magazine limit- in their Glocks, which were designed and manufactured to accept a bullet magazine that carries up to 17 bullets-G17), you are only entrusted to own and possess ten round gun magazines, as you go to meet that threat in your home with the single 10 round magazine in your home defense weapon, if you are fast enough or lucky enough to retrieve your home defense handgun in time to meet the threat. A new and terrifying crime here in LA County is the rise of home invasion gun armed robberies, often by more than one gun armed assailant. Want to meet that threat with your ten round limited home defense handgun? The Democrats will not stop until they have eradicated or made a nullity of the Second Amendment and rendered it as useless as the 10th Amendment. They want big government, Federal Control, and they do not want states to have the balance of power shifted back to the states, with the Federal Government being involved in every aspect of our lives, from Education to Guns.

Don't let the Democrats do to the rest of the country what they have done to, and ruined California. I am stuck here due to familial ties or I would have been gone more than ten years ago. About the time I saw the light and stopped voting for Democrats and registered as a "No Party Preference" voter (that is what California calls true independent registered voters). I have not voted for anyone with a D next to their name in ten years, except Obama, two votes I bitterly regret.

SCPO Jason McLaughlin - landslide victory? Seriously? Both parties saw a major decrease in votes and though Obama won, landslide was only in the wet dreams of his partisans. Given the drop in those who bothered to vote for either of the duopoly, it was pretty evident there was both buyers remorse on one side and discouraged voters on both.

When the last terrorist plane crashed in a Pennsylvania field instead of Congress, that was your last chance to ever have an honest elected official in Congress. If it had happened, only honest men would run for office. As it is now, they get eaten for lunch.

Sore loser act. Charlie Rangel speaking with the Daily Caller said he didn't even think his constituents had the right to carry any firearm, and added that only members of Congress rated guns for protection. Nonsense. Two sets of rules is the very basis of why we split from the British in the first place. I sincerely hope the left stops the direct attacks on inalienable human rights before we see another armed conflict between the People and those that think themselves to be ruling class.

Since they didn't vote for the Republican backed bill that re-instated due process, I think it makes them look like whining crying babies. But that's just me.

Yes to both. And to top it off they had a chance to vote on a 72hr wait time bill, but refused. And to top this all off, none of the bills presented would have stopped this past shooting or in my opinion will stop more violence. I listened to a interview with Idaho Senator Jim Risch. He stated the bill was unconstitutional, and the Sit-iners have no intention in upholding it (Constitution). He also stated guns weren't the problem. If the guns weren't there, what stops a person from buying sodium nitrate fertilizer, combining with a little diesel, add some nails, steel balls, etc and have a much more effect killing weapon than a gun? Fertilizer is easily obtained anywhere, no waiting period. He also stated the bill presented was just knee jerk response to the shooting, which I also believe. Again, need to attack the problem, if not we're in deep do-do (imo we already are half way down the slippery slope and sliding fast).

Who needs fertilizer when you can buy nail polish remover (acetone) and peroxide in every drug and grocery store?

This could be called 'grandstanding' or 'grandsitting'. However until both sides are willing to compromise nothings going to happen. So far, bills from both sides have been voted down with each side claiming the down-votes benefitted the public safety and security.

A better question is why is the Second Amendment the only right that you have to purchase a permit to utilize?

Considering that they've admitted that it was a fund raising stunt and that neither their two bills and the Republican's two bills were not supposed to pass it's worse than sore loser, it's opportunist.
