Potatoes were taken from South America to Europe in the 1500's and introduced to the North American colonies by Europeans in the 1600's. They can be used to help wounds heal. French fries, German fries, Home Fries, baked, boiled, mashed, hash browns, hot or cold potato salad with and without eggs, cream of potato soup, au Gratrin or roasted potatoes with roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.
I don't know if Mr and Mrs Potato Head helped the image of the humble spud or not but they have certainly helped lays potato chips. :-)
Do you like potatoes?

Cynthia Croft Do you make up your slaw with the sour
Cream, chopped spring onions and chives as one and then as needed
To your baked potato and butter..
Or.. add to potato one by one ?
Could I suggest making up the slaw and onion and chive and other additions (not butter of course) and chilling together. Whip again just before topping the potato. Maybe some do prefer sprinkling the onions n chives over the top.. either way can work.. save some chive as last minute toppping over the slaw premix idea. That slaw reads really good.

I like to eat real potatoes: French, German or home fried; boiled, baked, mashed, in creamy soups, in stews.
I like Idaho potatoes baked or fried, red potatoes boiled or roasted, yellow and white potatoes mashed, and cream of potato soup and have even enjoyed some instant potatoes every now and then.
When I responded to my question, I was not diabetic.
I was diagnosed with adult onset diabets whne I turned 60 in october 2016. The hardests thing for me to cut back on is potato consuption.
I still enjoy small to medium orders of fries, a good potato soup with bacon bits and cheese, or a medium baked potato.
