How many RallyPoint Riders would like to meet at a central location for a Motorcycle rally and ride?

Sounds like a great idea.

Okay RallyPoint Members I'm getting a lot of positive feedback and it looks like early August 2016 is winning out for the date, now I need some location recommendations that would allow for anyone in the United States to participate in this first ever RallyPoint Rally and Ride. Keep in mind I will be riding all the way from Oceanside, CA (no problem) - I'm going to provide a couple of suggestions here along with pictures and I hope you all will particiapte with some ideas as well. My first Suggestion would be Sturgis and we could meet at a certian location there and spend a couple days outside of Strugis - your thoughts?

August 8th - 14th, 2016(76th Annual Sturgis Rally)

August 5, 2016 travel day (FROM ALL LOCATIONS)
August 6, 2016 travel day (FROM ALL LOCATIONS)
August 7, 2016 everyone meets in Gillette, WY (make your own accommodations) others can stay where they like around Sturgis, SD – plan a ride around the Sturgis area, avoid Sturgis on Day 1 – Visit Crazy Horse
August 8, 2016 – ride the Needle and visit Mount Rushmore
August 9, 2016 – Plan a day downtown Sturgis – MEET THAT NIGHT FOR DINNER, PHOTOS, AND CELEBRATION FOR THE FIRST RALLYPOINT MEET AND GREET!
August 10, 2016 – travel home (BACK TO ALL LOCATIONS)
August 11, 2016 – travel home (BACK TO ALL LOCATIONS)

Sounds Like a great idea. I would certainly make every attempt to participate. I live in Independence, MO.

I'd be up for a ride but can't do 5-6 days due to work. I'll also be attending Sturgis again this year and we have a Regional CVMA Rally in KS mid August.

Tip

I am always up for riding. Just have to know the dates and location. I am out of Ft Stewart, Ga

COL Mikel J. Burroughs I live in Central Texas and can't ride more than an hour.
I also had C-Spine surgery (2012) have rods, screws and a cage for C-6 and spinal stenosis.

I'd love to attend but I'm tossing my hat into the ring for a civilian job within the next few months. My availability would really depend on where I land in that regard as well as where you guys settle on for the ride. I'm still near Fort Hood for the moment and riding the Hill Country is pretty nice, though I really prefer lots of mountainous terrain for cornering and scenery when I am out for a pleasure ride.

Across two weeks last year, from early to mid-September, I put this little bike on both sides of the continent and stood on the shore at Daytona Beach, FL and Ruby Beach, WA. I plan to do it again with a bigger bike when I have the time as that ride was about the experience of going coast to coast on a smaller bike with nothing I couldn't carry in a backpack. This one's a V-Star 650 Custom which I got for daily transportation to and from post while I was still on active duty.

It depends. I am shooting for Sturgis again this year and have another trip in the works. I might be interested though.

September works better for me, personally.
