How many RP members are using some type of spell check before they post a comment?

Unfortunately I'm terrible at spelling and I want to make sure when I respond or make comments on RP that I present them in the best possible fashion.
I'm just curious on how many RP members out there take the same time and effort to make sure they have a quality post and how many just could care less?

As others have mentioned, I pride myself on proper grammar and spelling. After all, we are not animals, right? Occasionally, one slips by me when using the iOS version of RP (especially when using talk-to-text) and it's like experiencing an OCD mental attack that I can't correct it until I get back to a computer.....to the point that I find myself memorizing posts I want to comment on rather than doing it at the moment on iOS.

My computer automatically conducts spell check as I type. Too bad it doesn't conduct grammar check as well.
I could just cut and paste from Microsoft word.........

I'm pretty sure Mr Gates invented spell check because of me. I use spell check on everything I can.

I generally don't need to include an additional spell check since I review my posts while I write them COL Mikel J. Burroughs. I use Google Chrome which has a built in spell checker- I have had to add numerous military and geographical words to that dictionary :-)

LTC Stephen F. I use all kinds of things, but I still miss some as you know - It is what it is!

SrA (Join to see), yes I can see your point. However, in my defense when I say "educated" it is in the form of having a rudimentary grasp on the English language to include proper spelling and grammar. :)

That is funny. I'm not NAVY yet..... But plan on re-submitting next march when I can re-apply... Its a huge issue that I am trying to get cleared up so that I can Enlist again. But with the break in service I can re-enlist onto that Active side of the house.

My computer does it automatically, what people need to learn is word selection. If it's a real word, spell check won't correct it. The biggest abuse is there, their, and they're.

Your absolutely correct SSgt Jones. I'm guilty of making that mistake as well.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs - Yes sir. I have a time trying to put into words that my brain runs through. Then saying what or typing what I think when it goes so fast. I just act faster than I can say or type most of the time. It is easier for me.

"It's not just what you say, but how you say it."
I absolutely believe this to be true. someone could put up a quality post but if there are typos and grammatical errors I am going to think less of the person who put it up.
Here on the internet there's no body language to read or tone to listen to, it's just words, and what you put out there is how people are going to judge you, fair or not, so I always work hard to present myself well.

Spellchecker/autocorrect messes with my comments. A single typo in a book drives me crazy. I consider myself a superior speller and grammar expert thanks to a nun several decades ago.

Staff writing taught me how to check for errors. Pen and paper is a good way to ensure you reduce errors. Have someone red pen your work if possible.
When I type I always spell as I type. I tend to pick up 99% of the errors.
Grammar is sometimes more difficult.

I type my responses in Notepad, then paste into word...silly but I like typing in Notepad more than word (even done college papers this way!) and spellcheck. But I use chrome so sometimes it does it too.

I have spell check turn on but if your not careful when you spell a word it will change it on you.

SSG Leo Bell Happens all the time - I end up going back over it again. I've gotten lazy and a few words have come out wrong on RP. I usually go back and correct them when I see them - just a habit!

I'm a pretty big perfectionist, so most times I read and re-read emails or messages before sending them haha

I end up correcting about half of what I write...or re-writing it...or deleting it LOL

I do not use a program to spell check though do usually read what I wrote 2-3 times before hitting the submit button, and at least 1 more time after. This does not catch everything, but at least helps reduce my chances of looking like a retard.

Sir, my BA is in English and I'm certified to teach English (in Texas) to 8th-12th grades. I do typically proofread my posts, on all social media; however, I more often than not, do not need spell check.

Sorry could have used an option between Yes and No, along the lines of yes but its not the best workaround.

Correct spelling is very important. When I'm typing fast I might miss a letter or period. I want what I write to be professional not garbage.

Well I try as much as possible to check that I'm using proper grammar. But my phone does my spell checking for me. But if I don't know the correct terminology for something I always look it up before I post incorrect information.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs, I like to think that I'm pretty good with spelling and grammar. However, more often than not, and despite my best efforts to the contrary, I will look at something I posted earlier and realize there's an error of spelling or grammar or something. I just hit the edit button and correct it.

Good Copy! It happens to me way too often, so I've tried to slow down a little and read what I've written!

COL Mikel J. Burroughs, what's funny (or not, I guess) is that I'll proofread a comment two or three times and then post it. I'll come back a day or two later and sure enough, I'll find some lame error that I must correct!

It happens to the best of us. I have made some grievous errors on some pretty important stuff in the past. Even today in the business world I've taken a beating on some spelling and grammar. I keep working hard to improve!
By the way, I double-checked this response!

I have to obsessively correct the red squiggle marks under my letter hammerings.

First off I just want to say awesome picture, a Yugioh card, that made my day a little bit. :)
But for me I am lucky because the computer I use automatically spell checks everything for me as I am typing, kind of like an online version of Microsoft Word. It is really helpful.
