Mental health seems like an umbrella term sometimes. What does it really mean? Who can determine when my mind is truly healthy? These are questions we will probably never get the answers to and that’s okay. But we should strive to feel healthy and safe in our own minds.
Being stuck in your head and thoughts with what feels like no escape can be daunting and overwhelming. Something that really helps me when my demons creep is motivational quotes and videos. It takes a lot of the work out of it for me and I can just sit and focus on the video then apply it to the appropriate areas in my life.
Removing the pressure of fighting my battles alone through motivational videos has helped me tremendously. I love watching them and I usually search for ones that fit into what I am feeling at that moment. One of my favorites I just found the other day is “You better watch out for those people who bounce back from everything that was meant to destroy them. Those are God’s people and they are not to be messed with.” Thankfully, the world we live in today has a plethora of videos on pretty much any struggle you may have. Whether your struggle is with family, transitioning, or you really don’t know what the source is, a quick YouTube or Google search will provide you with dozens of options to choose from. You can do it from your phone, computer, tablet, even reading quotes from a motivational book.
I would enjoy anyone who is reading this please post your favorite quote, the one that helps you get through your day as it might help someone else get through theirs. Together we all can be Mental Health Warriors.
If you or someone you know is struggling, please get help now. Tell a loved one. Tell a friend. Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: [login to see] . If you prefer to talk online, visit the veteran crisis line here: https://www.veteranscrisisline.net/get-help/military-crisis-line

My goal with my posts is trying to help others understand it is ok to have PTSD, Mental Health issues, but equally it is ok to ask for help when things seem overwhelming.

Thank you very much for adding your explanation CW4 (Join to see) I just returned from a VAMC cardiology set of appointments. I learned my primary anti-depressant may be affecting my heart rhythms. It is mild at this point.

I wanted to share a couple of other quotes people have shared with me during one of my speaking events.
1. While there is life these is hope.
2. Live a noble and honest life. Reliving past times in your old age will help you to enjoy your life again.
3. Never underestimate your power to change yourself.
