We have seen many things about our POTUS that many do not like about him, and while we have all had leaders we did not like, we could usually pick out a few things, or traits/characteristics you could use or emulate.

So, list the things you do like, keep it professional as always. What did momma say? "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing all."

I'll start:
(1) President Obama broke the racial barrier. He earned an education, became a Senator and a lawyer and is now the President.
(2) He has given millions a hope that one day they can do something great, especially those from under privileged areas.

(3) He has largely supported the military until as of recently with the downsizing, which is inevitable in every decade, our leaders have to make cuts...we keep only the best and brightest, right?

(4) He is a very supportive husband and father, and we need strong father role models in today's society where fathers are as rare as a long term-marriage.

I believe he honestly wants good things for America...I don't necessarily agree with the way he is going about it.

(5) He authorized the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

I know there aren't many fans on RP, but if there is something you like, share it if you dare.

DOCTRINE - Respecting Elected Officials | Commander and Chief

United States Constitution - Article II Section 2 states: The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States.

As the Commander and Chief (an Officer to/for our force) any words spoken ill or against the President, or any elected official "could" fall under the following of the UCMJ......

Article 88 — Contempt toward officials

Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

Article 89 — Disrespect toward a superior commissioned officer

Any person subject to this chapter who behaves with disrespect toward his superior commissioned officer shall be punished as a court martial may direct.

Article 134-12 — Disloyal statements

(1) That the accused made a certain statement;

(2) That the statement was communicated to another person;

(3) That the statement was disloyal to the United States;

(4) That the statement was made with the intent to promote disloyalty or disaffection toward the United States by any member of the armed forces or to interfere with or impair the loyalty to the United States or good order and discipline of any member of the armed forces; and

(5) That, under the circumstances, the conduct of the accused was to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the armed forces or was of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces.

DA PAM 600-60, Chapter 6 - Forms of Address (6–2) High officials
Address high officials such as presidents, ambassadors, and Cabinet members by their TITLES ONLY, never by name.

By regulation (AR 600-25, FM 7-21.13, AR 600-20, DA PAM 600-60, and the Manual for Courts Martial) we address our Officers by Sir / Ma’am or by their rank (e.g., CPT Snuffy, President Obama, Governor Romney, or Mr. President). Addressing any superior by their first or last name is a blatant sign of disrespect and dishonor to our traditions customs and courtesies.

Hatch Act: http://www.slideshare.net/USArmySocialMedia/social-media-roundup-social-media-and-the-uniform-code-of-military-justice - This act covers the utilization of Social Media for federal employee's and service members.

I like how he has stood up for his rich cronies by making everyone have to purchase their product or pay a penalty of $85 per person in their household during this year‘s tax filing. If the person still hasn’t purchased the product by next year’s tax filing then they will pay a penalty of $325 per person in their household. If the person STILL refuses to support the rich by the following year, then they will be penalized $1000 per person in their household. Very nice.

I also like the way his transparency of what he wants to turn this country into has galvanized and rallied many people into seeing the insidiousness of modern liberalism.

I am a liberal sir, but I agree 100% with you. We don't need conservative Cindy Sheehans on this topic. Liberals did bad mouth the last President, and were taken to task over it. But now the ones that didn't like that our doing it themselves. I believe thats called hypocrisy. Thank you sir for pointing that out.

CPL Jesse Still, I apologize if I offended you. It was not my intent at all especially since I do highly respect you, your thoughts as well as your faith in God, which I DO share. My comments above were not directed at you at all. If you took them as such, as I stated above, I do sincerely apologize. I also do understand active duty personnel have many limits emplaced, which many of us find to be abhorrent but that's neither here nor there.

CPL Jesse Still, ditto for me too although I'm a bit older. I'm more than willing to listen to those who are more knowledgable in some areas. Controlling one's emotions is definitely something difficult to master but it can be done. It's one of the things that has taken me many many years to finally understand and control although I will admit I'm still human and prone to the emotionality at times. I just do my best to not let others get the best of me.

Thank you for your professionalism and insight. God is my light. I take orders from him now. His advice has never let me down. He replies to my prayers and shows me the tools to use to solve my own problems. I assume most of us are Christians. If not, that's ok too because you have that right in this Country. But for us that call ourselves christians, ask yourselves this simple famous question, "What Would Jesus Do?" And act on it in a christian way, with faith and respect for the ones who don't agree.

When people experience stress they tend to revert and do things that are familiar and give them a sense of comfort. For Obama it's golf. For example, the Middle East can be glowing red hot, and Obama will be found on the golf course, sipping one of his White House beers or meeting with YouTube stars and giving interviews to them. It's all about priorities!!!

That said... Did we ever find out where he really was when Benghazi went down? ???

Capt Schwager,
Like yourself? Drowning in self pitty? Look, be mature enough to respect opinions other than yours, and drop the mediater role, and maybe we can have an adult like conversation. Don't preach one thing, and then regress on your sermon in the next statement. We all have our own opinions and all should be respected. Calling the President names, etc., is not adult like.

Agreed CPO Bill Towart. Not only is PC destroying this country, but multiculturalism is too. Multiculturalism is simply code for legalized reverse discrimination against whites, and it has given people of color a forum to discriminate against people who embrace Western culture, particularly those of European descent.

When you have to disenfranchise one group to advance another, you aren't solving the problem.

I completely back him when it comes to the keystone xl pipeline. We need to stray away from fossil fuels. I also think he's handling the drawdown in Afghanistan much better than Iraq. He's got good and bad qualities as all leaders do but I think the people who call him the worse president ever are willfully putting on blinders

PO2 William Allen Crowder, I am also from Wyoming. I do not like the XL Pipeline, and I appreciate the effort many of our politicians (including the current POTUS) have made to stop it.

I'm also a little confused as to why you're bringing up the efficiency of solar and wind. Is it to compare it favorably with coal, which only gets a 31% efficiency? Mind you, I do greatly appreciate the fact that taxes on coal and other natural resources have kept Wyoming's taxes so low, but that doesn't fool me into thinking it's an efficient, clean, or sustainable source of energy.

I definitely agree with you about nuclear, however. Nuclear power is some of the most efficient and clean in the world. Unfortunately, there is a public prejudice against it, which makes it unlikely that it will ever be a primary power source for the U.S. Perhaps we'll have more success with fusion power, which is finally on track to becoming a reality (http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2014/02/13/3943872.htm).

Can't help Fukushima. Probably not a great idea to build nuclear power plants on or near a fault line. Russia had a very safe design but arrogance and complacency got them in the end.

There are many things I don't like about how Obama has managed things but I do like his resilience and grace under pressure. His angst shows more through his graying hair than his demeanor.

1. I like his gracefulness under pressure. Speaking clearly, calmly and knowing the English language.
2. His hard driven fight for the under-dogs, though he has met much resistance.
3. His fight for environmental policy though he has met much resistance,
4. Being a good family man, I have two daughters also and it takes finesse for a man to handle that.
5. He has not had a major terrorist incident in this country under his watch.
6. The economy is turning around, but not in a way I like.
7. He ended the war in Iraq.
8. He ended the war in Afghanistan.
9. He made the first successful attempt to fix the miffed up health care system in this country, though he has met much resistance.
10. He has not screwed up any personal relationships in his life. He is a good role model.

One thing you must understand about Eastern culture and especially Islamic culture is that they despise weakness. This was explained to me by my math proctor who was Iraqi and working on his PhD in mathematics. I asked him what he planned to do with his math background and he planned to go back to Iraq with it. He planned to use his knowledge to beat back the Iranians whom they were at war with at that time. (Which tells me he could have been working toward being one of the scientists in Saddam's weapons programs.)

Anyway, we talked at length about math AND politics. I was an Active Duty Sergeant at the time and he was frank and honest. He didn't mince words or pull punches. He told me that I couldn't possibly understand how they think because they don't think like we do. He told me "You have to show them!" When I asked what he meant by that, be basically said that if they do something to you and you do nothing, they will do it again, only a little bit more. And they will keep pushing and pushing you as long as you do nothing. If you beat them to within an inch of their life, they will respect you. They respect strength, not weakness. So NEVER negotiate from a position of weakness. So long as they respect your strength, you will have no problem with them, but if they don't respect you, they will push you around... until you "Show them" and put them back in their place. If you don't, they will put you in your place.

Our Administration is perceived throughout the world as UNTRUSTWORTHY and WEAK! Our Allies, especially Israel, can not place any value in what our gov't says because our very leader is known by all to be ineligible, incompetent, and two-faced. NOBODY trusts America anymore when we say we're going to do something. We are a sad joke. The rest of the world is scratching their heads wondering how America could have allowed this to happen to itself. How could a once noble nation allow itself to become so indebted economically? How could we allow our elections become so tainted with corruption? How could we let someone that never bothered to properly vet himself be on the ballot, let alone vote for him?!! And then why do we sit idle as those we elected act as if they are impotent and unable to do anything about it!!! They see that the problem isn't Obama; rather, it is the nation of fools that elected him!!! We are fat, lazy, dumb and our arrogance is exceeded only by our ignorance of what goes on domestically and in the rest of the world. They are watching us intently and shaking their heads because what they see is a trainwreck going in slow motion. They see an America on the decline and headed toward self-destruction.

Yes, so do we but, we don't prosecute because of that. They take advantage of all our liberal policies ( taken as a weakness). heck we do the same in sports. I am not sure they despise weakness but they sure know how to take advantage of it. Unfortunately, I have read that half a dozed 4 stars have been fired. If they didn't know what they were doing--how in tarnation did they make 4 stars
