We've all had those songs that trigger tons of emotion in our hearts and drive extreme pride in our cause. Which song does that for you?<div>I'm going to have to say Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American" is often overplayed, so let's leave that one out of the responses...</div>

Well, I am going to go with our National Anthem. I love morning colors, it gets my heart pumping. Not to get completely off track, but, it really pisses me off to hear about younger troops running to get inside before colors so they aren't outside and have to render honors.
I do agree with SSG Broadbent about Taps.

New song I heard called Horse Soldier Horse Soldier on youtube, it speaks from all different soldiers from all different times, very epic. Love it. Don't think I have a least favorite.

I just looked it up and it is pretty epic. I hadn't heard of it tip now though. Definitely not bad.

I looked at this and thought it was great. Almost made me want to go back and into the Calvary this time. So I went ahead and posted a link to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7cMcB9na3w

Makes no difference who sings it (except Rosanne Barr). It Always reminds me of why we serve and why our fathers served.

I have to say it is God Bless America by the one and only Kate Smith! Comes a close second to the Marine's Hymn.

God Bless America is an American patriotic song written by Irving Berlin in 1918 and revised by him in 1938. The later version was recorded by Kate Smith, an...
God Bless America by Kate Smith is the song I think of when I think of Patriotic Songs. There was and still is a movement to make this our Nation Anthem. The words are so awe inspiring and if you have never heard Kate Smith sing it you are really missing a wonderful performer? Listen to the introduction, which you almost never hear and then the song itself.

I have a confession to make.... I have never been a fan of "forced patriotism'.....When the military movie theater plays the national anthem....I would hang out in the lobby waiting for all that stuff to be over....one night I was lost in thought and walked into the theater just as the flag was thrown onto the screen and everyone stood up. I thought "AWH hell, I am trapped".....As I stood there ....as we all stood there....NO MUSIC !.... we all stood there in the dark.....the flag waving....wondering what the hell do we do now???
Suddenly way in the back of the dark theater came the tiny voice of a child " Oh say can you see..... "
Soon the entire theater was filled with people singing.....I do not know about the others but I was not only singing.....I was crying...... remembering all my brothers who's voice was lost on the battlefield....
For me the National Anthem will always bring a tear to my eye....
