If the man at the top may be unstable - then the White House is likely to exhibit some instability - as well as some efforts by the White House staff - who are normal infighters - to undermine and replace the man at the top. The problem, however, is how to accomplish regime change (the replacement of a mentally unstable incumbent with another member of the ruling political party) within the very strict confines of the United States Constitution - and within the constraint of maintaining the full faith and confidence of the citizens. Time to bring Mike Pence up to bat.

If we use the Trump "mentally ill" Standard, then we have to apply it to Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters and Sheila Jackson Lee who I suspect wake up in a different world every day. I see a man who came into office, bringing jobs back to America using muscle instead of begging. I see a man who is lifting the regulatory burden on large and small business. I see a man trying to get the best and brightest into positions that can restore a functioning government. instead of ego driven sycophants who have had their egos bruised by someone asking the question "what have all you people been doing?", you have someone that's willing to charge that hill. Nothing makes you look worse than aiding the enemies of the US, tolerating and encouraging low Gross Domestic Product, continual poor economic performance and last but not least minority employment at an all-time low. Today's crop of politicians are like the news media: If they don't have someone stroke their own sense of self-importance, they go berserk. Finally I see someone calling the Congress to task about why our military has inoperable equipment, why are we sustaining the longest wars(police actions) in history, a Veterans Administration that pays bonuses to ignore the reason the VA was created, and why are we following asinine rules of engagement that benefit the enemy and get our youngest and brightest killed? I wasn't a Trump fan prior to the election but I am sure :"rooting" for him now......

The original point of the question was a bunch of "15 minutes of fame" psychologists wanting to diagnose Trump from afar. Since observed behavior was the focus of their diatribe, I was simply pointing out that other prominent politician's behaviors should face the same kind of rigor. Thanks for your comment.

In the case of President Trump, he went into office mentally unfit. On inauguration day, he demonstrated his unfitness by having Spicer say that his inauguration crowd was the largest ever, period. That was just the beginning of Trump’s lunatic lies and exaggerations, many just gratuitous.

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - Okay, well you are spewing the same irrelevant rhetoric as the TDS sufferers. You have failed to show anything relating to mental fitness and just repeated the emotional political accusations. We are not discussing Trump's honesty, but his mental fitness, two completely different factors. Keep in mind that if dishonesty was a disqualifier then none of the established political class would be permitted to remain in office as well as the entire legacy media would be mentally unfit.

Be honest. Are you suggesting that President Trump is mentally ill? Is this just another manifestation of the Left's continuing petulant temper tantrum over losing to such a remarkably unpolitical candidate? Or is it just another morbid attempt to ignore the criminality of his opponent in the election? Why can't we all just take a deep breath, a shot of demon rum, and learn to laugh at the District of Calamity again?

Other presidents have certainly been presidential but I can't say I ever saw as big a turnaround in the US economy or someone standing up for America (other than Reagan) without caring what other countries think as we have with Trump. I think that I prefer the bull in the china shop to the egalitarian politician who talks a lot but doesn't say much....

Can a person honestly not see mental Illness when they are looking at it. Fourteen Psychiatrist from Yale University and around the nation can't be wrong. Talking about who's button is bigger, tweeting at 0300 hours in the morning rather then sleeping, the President is stressed to his limits, I personally don't want to see WW3. In his own Administration there's strife to keep him under control. A person don't have to be completely out of there mind to be mentally-ill, dementia, slurring of his words, saying the same thing over repeatedly. The ability to not comprehend what's right for America. One thing I'm glad of is that South Korea is now talking with North Korea to try and stabilize some issues.

Sandy, really? So newspapers should dictate the competency of the President? Should we ask the news industry if the feds should raise the interest rate? Even Trump haters have to admit that the media is anti-trump.... If you can't admit that then there is no hope for a united country in any direction. I've always respected your thoughts and comments on rallypoint, please don't let me down now....! "What can be done to restore the full faith and confidence in the government of the people by the people for all of the people (not a select wealthy few friends of the president and his family) of this great country? "

He has that in large numbers... 62,979,879 or so people of the United States of America have full faith and confidence in the 45th President, thats why he is the 45th president.... not as you claim a few wealthy friends.

Reality is, its the other way around, a few wealthy people that feel their way of life is being threatened are making unfounded claims in hopes of suckering enough attention to cause a constitutional crises, all while blaming it on others.

I know thats hard for some to grasp, difficult to accept and they continue to deny it at every turn...but it does not change the facts as they are. 62,979,879 or so people of the United States of America have full faith and confidence in the 45th President.

That aside, Its the democratic and or liberal way, if you don't like what "THEY" say or how "THEY" say it..Call them a raciest and walk away. If you don't like what "THEY" are doing, call them mentally ill, and shout "we must do something"

*"THEY" being anyone (everyone) not them...if you don't fall in line with the democratic speaking at the moment you will be denounced as racist , homophobic, mentally ill, sexist/xenophobic/etc . Toe the line or be attacked thats the liberal way..

Democrats should take this approach in house ..and expel the mental ill sitting members of there own House before looking for non existent things in the House they lost...The WhiteHouse

Excellent I am glad I continued reading your post. I too am sick of this constant attacks on our president, any thing he says anything he does the liberal media and all manner of individuals from the swamp (both dems and rino's) attack him and try and spin his words and action into something they were never meant to be, as if he is a crazy man. The only thing crazy is allowing these kinds of attacks (some bordering on sedition and civil insurrection, tell me a time when there have been this many celebrities and other we a outsized mouth piece say they want our commander in chief killed w/out any outcry) to continue. When will it end? if President Trump gets impeached? than what? Will everything just calm down and go back to normal? Nope you will have a whole lot of people in this country who have lost faith in any kid of fairness or justice. You will also be saying to these people we don't recognize your vote. Good luck on anyone ever being able to effectively govern again. In an atmosphere like that. Just poses this questions especially on a veteran/military website is a perfect example of what I am talking. Anyone ever bring up on this site about obozzo being a socialist? how about him being mentally unfit? Nope again you would have been attacked and called a racist.

1LT Sandy Annala The President is fine. During the past eight years, I saw a lot of things that I did not like, but myself and others did not resort to the hate that I am seeing displayed now. We have had so called peaceful protests where there have been riots, burning, destruction, blocking of roads and freeways, busses, and cars, and general mayhem. I have seen the American flag burned, while they proudly wave the Mexican flag. Is this what our country is about?

So now it is regime change the left is after. Every four years the voters get to change regimes if we choose it. Seems to me that the other side that lost the election still cannot accept that the Democrats thought they had it in the bag and that Hillary would win easily. So after getting rejected and getting rebuked, they decide to undermine, obstruct, get violent and lie about everything that the new POTUS does. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

OK
Step 1 Try to convince electors to be faithless
Step 2 Convince the LGBTQ and minorities that he will roll back human and civil rights and set up internment camps
Step 3 Claim he is impeachable before he even takes office
Step 4 Petition voters to overthrow the will of their states electorate
Step 5 Claim he is impeachable as soon as he takes office
Step 6 Have celebrities and journalists call for assassination or military coup
Step 7 Overblow and/or fabricate every statement in order to sow discord and delegitimize
Step 8 Political violence
Step 9 Claim mental instability requiring the 25th amendment replacement of a sitting President

1stSgt Mack Housman - I think the fringe elements on the left are to some extant highlighting the lunacy of fringe left nonsense. They have become parodies of themselves. My hope is that the up and coming leadership of the DNC will swing back to center left. Still waiting, but I think there are signs that independents and intellectually honest Democrats are waking up.

I consider myself a "Tea Party" anti-Federalist. I also recognize that the American people are not ready for a Federal government "pruned" to the degree I think is good and proper. The media succeeded to some extant in falsely labeling us as "fringe elements." And attributed many views to "Tea Party" conservatives that are just not true. (Racist, Fundamentalist, Uncompassionate, Hawkish, etc. etc.) The Tea party has never been about anything but Federal over taxation, Federal over reach, and extra-Constitutional application of Federal power.

However, the good thing the mislabeling of the Tea Party has done; the silent majority is suspect of the press, and government. They are waking up. I will most likely ALWAYS be too far right of the general consensus on the size and scope of Federal power.

What America needs right now is a stoic, patient center right Republican Party. A calm, rational center left Democratic Party, and a Inspirational leader that can get the two to sit at the same table as allies who have compatible goal with different thought on how to get there, instead of seeing each other as "treacherous, evil bastards."

This is all just more liberal gnashing of teeth and wrenching of hair. What's unfortunate in this case is that the issue is also slanderous. I see law suits coming against anyone and especially any physician claiming to have diagnosed the President medically without having met with him in person. It is a violation of Professional ethics, Medical Malpractice, and grounds for loss of license to practice. I did note that all the Doctors mentioned in the article are currently retired (so they haven't just ruined their career). As for the Military, you hold your tongue, say "Yes Mr President" and do what you are told. Anything else is a definite violation of Federal statutes and the UCMJ.
