A blue cord, women, an extra 2 inches in length and an extra inch in girth, third testicle, a PHD in trash talk and bar fights, if you're lucky a CIB and if you're good an EIB, if you're crazy a pair of jump wings AND more girls, countless cuts and bruises, one bad back, one or two bad knees, a seemingly infinite number of good stories and some of the best brothers you could ever ask for.

Thanks for understanding and being respectful. Today's military has changed substantially since I was in just as many that served in Nan would say it changed after I joined. The important thing is to shoot for the stars, don't settle for 2 nd best and take away as much as you can from your time in the service.

No doubt, I was watching that Chain of Command docu series about US soldiers in Iraq fighting ISIS and the military has changed a decent amount since I got out in 2012. Id imagine the older you get the more and more changes you notice.

You'll find out you're a lot tougher than you think you are. It's been said, "After a tour in Infantry, everything else in life is easy."

A really cool blue cord. And acceptance into a fraternity unlike any other.

SGM Mikel Dawson - Correct. By passing their entry level MOS producing course. Basically it's a blanket award for passing AIT, just like every other Soldier in the Army has to do...

Although I'm happy to inform you that the online retailers don't discriminate and allow everyone, regardless of MOS to buy them, so grunts can get them too!

SFC Michael Hasbun - You can try to talk it down by calling it a blanket AIT award, but it means a whole hell of a lot more to the men (and now women) who actually earn it, during OSUT and beyond.

SFC Michael Hasbun - As a POG yes you can buy one. As a GRUNT we earn ours. You will never know the satisfaction of earning it. Like SGT Christopher Hayden said, it is not a blanket award, We earned it.

I had to look up what a POG was. In Nam we called them REMF’s.
