COL Lee Flemming Last weekend, 1/19-20/2018, at separate events I was pleased to shake hands with: 1. General Michael Hayden, former DIRCIA, (when I introduced myself as SGM Harry Hayden, (my middle name is Harry), he said, “I have a brother named Harry”. To which I said, “I did a recon General”

2. The next day I attended a speech by LTC Alan West, former BN CDR in the 4th ID and later member of Congress from Florida.

Please note: the US Flag pin in my lapel!

I shook the hand Admiral Mullen ,the head of the JCS in 2008 at PRT Farah in late 2008. I can't find his picture but it is here somewhere. He was able to get our Seacan/Connex box from Pakistan sent to us in 3 days. He was followed by a CBS 60 minutes crew. He gave out Coins in his name. He was a military version of a Rockstar. Smart, down to earth and a 4 Star Admiral.

Pair him up with big Tim and just stand back and watch. Their famous dentist skit was ad-libbed.

I've been in the room with Clinton, Bush, and Obama. I've briefed Senators and Representatives. Four-Star officers. Hollywood celebrities. Looking forward to the day I see Jesus Christ face to face.

Hands down Kid Rock! I was with the KY National Guard working the Kentucky Derby one year. I got the luck of the draw and got to work Millionaires Row doing roving patrol. I went to one of the bars that had all the celebrities there. Brooks and Dunn, Cuba Gooding Jr., Usher, Tara Reid, Payton and Eli Manning.

I was just taking it all in. and Kid Rock gets up from the other side of the bar and comes over and sticks his hand out and says, "I want to thank you for your service." I shook his hand and we talked for about 10 minutes. He was such a humble person and just a genuinely nice guy. I have never forgot how cool he was.

Can't say I would have even mentioned one of the two. The one was super fine all by his lonesome!!! As for those whom I've met, those with whom I've dined and partied, an Academy Award winner who was a best bud in High School, I just be setting myself up to get slammed for being a name-dropper.

Probably Ike and Mamie in '67 before he laid the cornerstone for the new National Presbyterian Church. While working as a Nurses Aide at Motion Picture Hospital, I took care of a Stooge, two Tarzans, Tonto, and Bud Abbot. Moe would visit Larry. Wish I could remember the stories they swapped. Oh yes, The Duke 3 times, Sly, Nader, and Ollie. Did call Ann Margret a B way back when.
