Donald Trump indicated he would most certainly consider jumping ship and running as an Independent Third Party candidate if the GOP 'mistreats' him, according to recent interviews.

Pressed on whether he would run as a third-party candidate if he fails to clinch the GOP nomination, Trump said that “so many people want me to, if I don’t win.”
“I’ll have to see how I’m being treated by the Republicans,” Trump said. “Absolutely, if they’re not fair, that would be a factor.”

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus called Trump earlier this month asking him to tone down his controversial rhetoric. More recently, the RNC rebuked him for saying that Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is not a war hero. Trump didn’t apologize but has since said that the 2008 Republican presidential nominee is a war hero.

Trump told The Hill that the GOP establishment in Washington dislikes him because he’s not part of the political class.

“I’m not in the gang. I’m not in the group where the group does whatever it’s supposed to do,” he said. “I want to do what’s right for the country — not what’s good for special interest groups that contribute, not what’s good for the lobbyists and the donors.”

The real estate magnate has upended the Republican presidential primary, with recent national polls showing that he is leading the 16-candidate field. Many in the party’s establishment, pointing to his inflammatory comments about Mexican immigrants and McCain, say that Trump is badly hurting the GOP brand.

Yet he is connecting with a significant chunk of GOP voters. And despite criticism from party leaders and other presidential candidates, Trump appears fueled by controversy.

Would Trump as an Independent get your vote?

Would you vote for Socialist Bernie Sanders? Or Hillary Clinton, who's resume includes lying to investigators and ethical violations? ??? Or perhaps Joe Biden, who is a gaffe generator, or perhaps Pocahontas, who lied about her ancestry. To be honest, Bernie looks the best out of this crowd, and that isn't saying much.

They make EVERY one of the GOP candidates look good by comparison. The question really becomes, "Do we elect an Establishment GOP candidate and do business as usual in Washington (i.e., get nothing accomplished while wasting even MORE tax dollars) or do we bring in an outsider like Dr. Ben Carson, Sen Ted Cruz or Donald Trump and shake Washington up? ???

There's some movement and talk about Romney jumping in due to Jeb Bush's sagging Poll numbers. That would be a game changer.

Capt Jeff S. - Right now I don't know who I would vote for. No one is appealing. I know it won't be any of those three outsiders you mentioned. Romney and Biden should both jump in. Make it interesting.

Nope. No way...and he better not run third party...it'll screw everything up just like Ross Perrot did way back when. Trump was interviewed by Sean Hannity lat night live on FOX....Trump claims that he does not intend to run and absolutely will not run on Third Party...only Republican ticket.

SGT Jeremiah B., except Hillary. Or Sanders.

If those are the choices I may miss my first election since Goldwater.

Capt Seid Waddell - To be perfectly honest, a corrupt Democrat and a true-blue Liberal would be far less damaging than an apologetically narcissistic opportunist. I have a sick feeling that the military would get a lot more exercise than it should under Trump because his mouth is unchecked by integrity or reality. Congress can work with the other two towards something positive if they do their damn jobs.

It would be tempting not to vote though.

SGT Jeremiah B., I think the military would be scrapped to buy dependency votes if either Hillary or Sanders was elected. The country cannot survive another administration gutting the military in an increasingly dangerous world.

Let us hope that this will not be the range of choices we have in 2016.

Capt Seid Waddell - I think we can handle quite a bit with a reduced force UNLESS we feel the need to play World Cop. I'm over fighting battles for people who clearly don't want to win.

Besides, Congress has some say in this stuff. They'd just rather force us to buy tanks we don't want than look at how we can eliminate stupid things like that in exchange for fewer force reductions.

IF Trump Had A Brain And Tilted His Head,
It Would Fall Out Of His Ear; And If He Had All The Crap
Kicked Out Of Him, He'd Revert To His Weight At Birth.

If he wins, I'll be voting Libertarian... and no it isn't a wasted vote. Why do we have to choose the lesser of two evils?
