IMHO this falls back to my original beliefs that the prior regime (Sadaam) had chem weapons. They willingly used them on their own people (Google Halabja I believe 95-96 time frame) killed over 5000 Kurds. Oh wait what a coincidence. It was *supposedely* Mustard gas. The same used against his own people.
Spin as they may. It is/was there and is being used.

But "Bush Told the Truth and People Died" doesn't rhyme and would therefore be one of the worst chants ever.

I read somewhere that the US provided Sadaam Hussein with chemical weapons prior to their war with Iran.

Not much surprise that ISIS would use mustard agent against US and Iraqi troops. Hopefully the mission dictated that chemical detection devices would be required and soldiers were prepared 1LT (Join to see). Under Saddam, the Iraqi's used chemical weapons in the Pripet marshes against the Shia nd in the north against the Kurds.
Some of ISIS's leaders are former Iraqi senior leaders who know ell how to use chemical weapons to motivate the survivors. I would expect ISIS to continue to use mustard agents and perhaps even use nerve agents in the future.

Sir, we deploy with all our kits and detection devises,my last deployment to AFG 2012-2013, I was CBRN-E/DRT Chief, and had to sign for all of the Battalion Detection Devices from our home station, and we loaded on the bird when we deployed. When we arrived, we checked with the FOB G-2, and they told use we did not need to set them up at our camp, as the main FOB has them set up all over. So I would say they had them set up, and looks like they had enough common sense, and had M256 kits on them, and did a test on sight according to the article. Now we have secondary rolls for operational decon , to back the CHEM Battalions, so this is the other reason we deploy with CBRN-E Equipment.

CPO (Join to see) - thanks for confirming. I certainly remember the M256 kits. In defensive postures it seemed to be easier to protect our forces than in recon missions and other missions which were not static.

LTC Stephen F. - Yes sir we are defensive, so that's why we train with them all the time, and doing operational DECON. They sent me to FT Leonard Wood to go through what we call Disaster Preparedness school and had to go through real Nerve agent chamber fun stuff..

CPO (Join to see) - thanks for letting me know you were sent to "FT Leonard Wood to go through what we call Disaster Preparedness school and had to go through real Nerve agent chamber fun stuff."
I left Fort Leonard Wood in March 1975 as a young PV2 Combat Engineer. I have been through the CS and CN chambers and exposed to those agents outside as well. I would never want to go through nerve agent exposure :-)
in 1982, I went through the NBC course at Vilseck, Germany.
