I saw this with a fellow squadron commander who refused to take appropriate actions on troops who misbehaved. His DUI rate skyrocketed as did a number of other issues. His first sergeant went to the wing CC and asked for a transfer and that led to an early change of command.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - I'm very happy that when i did preform 1st Sergeant duties I had worked for two Commanders that were both great. Both were fair but kept things in control as well. Only one Commander in My 20 years was substandard and He was not only relieved of Command but forced to retire. His biggest victims were the senior NCOs and Officers in the unit which ALL of us did respect. He came to the attention of a Lt. General in our chain of Command Who not only relieved Him but placed our workplace off limits to Him and told Him He was not to even enter the building. He gave him and a Captain buddy of His a office cube to sit in and no duties at all just a place until His retirement and Captains discharge from the USAF.
