This is a subjective article, this guy's opinion. it's got good info. I have 2 long guns for Hog harvesting, Both .30 cal chosen for different scenarios. One is an older Ruger SR-10, based on Stoner's AR-10, and A Marlin(Before Ruger swept them up) 336. I only own 1 bolt action chamber .22LR for training purposes. The SR is fine in situations in which a Bolt would be better than a Lever. The SR-10 is no longer available except in private sale or a pawn shop, if you're lucky. However the Ruger SFAR would appear to be a valid alternative if I didn't already have the .308W SR-10.

They are all over Texas and will never go away as land owners would rather get paid by hunters than work their land.
