Thanks for sharing Maj Marty Hogan. I was interested to learn that Orville Redenbacher
(1907 - 1995) the man behind the popcorn company got equal billing with President James Garfield who died at the age of 50 as a result of being shot by assassin Charles J. Guiteau on July 2, 1881. His presidency lasted just 200 days, from March 4, 1881, until his death on September 19, 1881.
In less than a generation two US Presidents were assassinated Abraham Lincoln in 1865 and James Garfield in 1881. Assassinations had been carried out since ancient times as away to change governments - in many nations wars were the direct result of assassinations - War of the Roses in England and WWI jump out. Thankfully in our nation assassinations did not lead to wars although Lincoln was assassinated because of his role in the US Civil War.

Maj Marty Hogan Saw President Garfield's statue at the capital building on Saturday. They had a collection of Presidents who served in Congress.
