CSM Charles Hayden if they're going to the pink and greens again, you may be able to wear the pink and green garrison cap available by the end of the year. Old is new. It's interesting that they brought back the Dodge Challengers in the early 70s back in 2008 and maybe even more improvements in 2015 and Beyond. Now, the sergeant major of the army has brought back the pink and greens. Things have come full circle.

LTC (Join to see) Being a dinosaur, I do not understand why the Marines are still wearing their uniform of the 1930s.

Don’t the Marines also have a recruiting problem?

The current “recruits” must be very sensitive to bling! It is not like they will ever wear the newest Army uniform.

Most of today’s Soldiers seem to prefer uniforms that can be washed, hung out to dry and worn everywhere! When formation for your promotion ceremony to LTC was in the current uniform of the day, I was astounded!

My wearing a jacket and tie to your promotion ceremony made me feel overdressed. CSM

CSM Charles Hayden my father wore a suit and tie to my commissioning. I did walk across the stage wearing the dress blues. Maybe because we are not active duty why we were not in our dress blues. All my changes of command that I have witnessed the commanders and the general were dressed in BDUs, ACUs or the newest OCPs. The class a uniform went away officially 6 years ago. Even before then, you were told to wear your dress blues for your Department of the army photo. In 2009, I went to a change of command ceremony at Madigan Army Medical Center where the new Commander was promoted from full bird colonel to two Star General because she was in charge of the hospital. We all wore our ACU's and so did the incoming Commander. I went to a Memorial Day celebration at Fort Lewis in May of 2009 and the base commander was in a dress blues uniform. I guess it all depends on the situation.
