1st Infantry Division brigade deploying to Korea this fall

The 1st Infantry Division's 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team is sending its 3,500 soldiers to South Korea soon to take over the regular rotation of forces there, the Army announced Wednesday.
The brigade will relieve the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, which has been deployed since February.
"The Devil brigade has proven themselves while conducting rigorous training during Danger Focus at home station and at the National Training Center," Brig. Gen. Patrick Frank, the 1st Infantry Division's deputy commanding general, said in a statement. "The leaders and soldiers of this great brigade are well-trained and fully prepared for this important mission to South Korea."
Units have been spending nine-month stints in Korea since the inactivation of the 1st ABCT, 2nd Infantry Division in 2015. That unit had been headquartered in Korea for 50 years, staffed by soldiers on one-year, unaccompanied tours.
Soldiers from 1st BCT, 1st Infantry Division will be the third rotation under the new plan.

I expect the troops will deploy without major equipment and fall in on prepositioned (APS-4) stocks at Camp Carroll, South Korea.

The Big Red 1 is certainly a lethal host which can lick its weight in bobcats! I hope North Korea's dictator can keep his wits about him so that he does not do something stupid, like invade the south.
