This is interesting that the U.S. Army National Guard is deploying a new system that uses military-grade satellite communications to connect on-site responders with state and federal authorities while also providing local fire and police units with interoperable radio links SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. Hopefully this capability will be effective I supporting effective search and rescue operations and coordination between various participating organizations.
It reminded me of one of the areas where GSA has been effective - their Wildfire Program which supports "total solutions for Law Enforcement, Security, Facility Management Systems, Fire Rescue, Special Purpose Clothing, Marine Craft & Emergency/Disaster Response."

I may be getting too old for this. I see conspiracies everywhere. Could the federal government be getting local communities hooked on federal communication for the sake of overall control? How many search and rescues are delayed because of lack of communication? I see EPA, and to a lessor degree the ACOE, overreach with the authority 102/105 permits (E&S Control Permits and Waterway Obstruction Permits) to control development and people in our country. When I see this I start to question everything.

Thanks SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL . Agencies shoudl be able to communicate at all levels and cross agency. This might make sense but SFC (Join to see) also has a take on this!
