Yes I remember that day SGT (Join to see). My mother who was glued to the TV for the Watergate hearings was much more interested. I was getting prepared to enlist after I turned 18 that October.
While castigated by the liberal press former President Richard Millhouse Nixon took the more honorable path of resignation in lieu of subjecting the Office of the President and the Presidency impeachment proceedings. Impeached former President William Jefferson Clinton took the less honorable path of going through impeachment proceedings and getting impeached by the US House of Representatives for multiple offenses.

I have read my fathers records, majority of which simply states inaccessible, on paper his position was buck seargent coming out of basic, this was still his listed position 9 yrs later two honorable discharge and the last was a general. His entire service he was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB, 2/68 to 9/77 and shows him as a civil engineer with SAC until August 79. He had an MP jeep though he wasnt an MP, he had a wireless hightower radio, he served all through Veitnam but never went there, he was world response ready but as far as I know the only place he went was to Thailand and he was required to debrief on base 1 to 3 days before he would be able to come home. We had offbase housing and pay far exceeded what would have been consistent with his grade. He is alive and lives with me. But you got to give credit where credit is due he will never tell me anything about his military career LOL
