Approximately 100,000 antiwar demonstrators march in New York City to demand that the United States withdraw from Vietnam. The weekend of antiwar protests ended with demonstrations and parades in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and other cities. The National Mobilization Committee, the Student Mobilization Committee, and the Socialist Workers Party were among the groups that helped organize the demonstrations. At the same time, Quakers held sit-ins at draft boards and committed other acts of civil disobedience in more than 30 cities.

In comparison- the hippies of yesterday were that generations tide pod eaters. Good to see a movement of people involved in a cause though. Great history share Mark and good morning.

Rallies and demonstrations are a great way to get behind a cause and support it as long as it is done like the great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. did it, with no violence or vandalism. In the case of Vietnam, it should have been done much sooner before we got so involved and so many lives were lost.

I was beginning flight training at Ft Wolters, TX. Time is like a river. Vietnam was like a poorly built bridge constructed over that river. After much money and many lives were spent, it was left partially unfinished and later abandoned. There's been a lot of water and debris under the bridge, and the water still flows muddy after some fifty years.... I left some of my memories on that bridge, and some of my memories in the mud and debris.....
