Good morning RP. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Messier 63: The Sunflower Galaxy." Messier 63 (M63) is about 25 million light years distant and 100,000 light years across (roughly the size of our Milky Way). The Sunflower Galaxy has a bright yellow core, blue spiral arms, and numerous pink star-forming regions. It is found in the constellation Canes Venatici (The Hunting Dogs), located between Ursa Major (The Big Dipper) and Bootes (The Herdsman).
