Good Thursday, January 9, 2019 morning my friend COL Mikel J. Burroughs
Vacation Day is an intriguing focus for most of us. I realize that you and Bella are getting ready to take your vacation in Costa Rica. I hope you both will have a wonderful and memorable vacation.
For many of us mental vacations are the primary vacations we take. :-)
Of course weekends are something those who work regularly look forward to. Short vacations are something I have taken in my younger day especially on three-day weekends. :-)
Listening to music helps my mind to reverie AKA daydream :-)
Thank YOU, dear God for establishing the Sabbath for mankind. YOU never need rest and YOU designed us to function better with rest and at least one day off per week. I am grateful that he day we observe the Sabbath is not sacrosanct. Thank YOU, LORD for making us aware that YOU are interested in how we love those around us, and YOU are focused on the positive that YOU guide us towards.
I pray that YOU reveal to the legalistic leaders and church members that YOU are focused on what we should do, and YOU do not want your adopted sons and daughters to focus on a list of don’ts.
I pray that parents are doing their best to make their children secure in the love of their mother and mother and YOUR love for each. Open the eyes and ears of parents and children to enjoy time together with spontaneous fun and games where everybody wins.
I pray that grandparents, aunts and uncles genuinely love their grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Help extended family members to grow closer in relationship. I pray that the young people love forward to family gatherings.
Protect the young and the vulnerable from abuse and misuse throughout this nation, dear God
I pray for the wisdom, periods of relaxation and fun for the President, Vice President, Secretaries of Defense, Homeland Security and State and their staff members.
I pray that the U.S. House of Representatives will relax and listen to their constituents and learn what is important to them.
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and their loved ones sleep well Thursday night.

Good morning Mikel and my friends on RallyPoint! Great topic for today. It reminds me of a speech made to the 24th Infantry Division when the new incoming CG, General Galvin, told us that there was nobody so important that he/she could not go on leave to include himself. First it is good for the health of the person, and second, others need to be able to take command of those who may be replaced.
