Good morning Col Burroughs and posse. Another RED Friday is upon us.
Equip is a concept we veterans understand. And how can you equip yourself for the future? Use what you've learned and experienced to help build the package that will take you forward but remember we never can bring it all so be flexible and smart in how you do things. We all come with different talents and skills so if we help each other, there is a much greater chance that we'll have what we need going forward. Buddy up! Teams/families/groups survive over individuals in the long run.

I expect you are well-equipped, motivated and optimistic about the future. No doubt you are an inspiration to those who depend upon you and that you are leading them to achieve fulfilling goals. I pray that you and I are blessed by the LORD with a vision aligned with HIS plan for the future for us and those we love. ‘Where there is no prophetic vision, the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law’ [Proverbs 29-18 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I lift deployed service members and other deployed individuals, their family members, and others who depend on them to YOU LORD. I pray that you bless the deployed individuals with discernment and ability to rest sufficiently to perform their missions and duties alert and focused well. I pray they are each equipped well and technically knowledgeable and motivated to perform their duties. ‘ at the stronghold in the wilderness mighty and experienced warriors, expert with shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions and who were swift as gazelles upon the mountains’ [1 Chronicles 12:8 b]
I pray for safety, security and good health for each of the family members of the deployed service members. I pray that YOU enable and motivate the deployed service members to write letters to their family – especially for spouses and young children. 'He will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.' [Malachi 4:6 ESV]
I pray for endurance, self-control, sense of purpose and desire for justice for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters dear LORD. Strengthen our resolve to persevere with grace and demonstrate YOUR love to each person we interact with. ‘Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified. [1 Corinthians 9:25-27 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Friday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Saturday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

I had to give this one today some thought. How do I equip myself as a leader? I continually put myself in situations where I am forced to learn, read as much leadership related material to expose myself to many situations in case, and working on being a better listener. I feel I did the same as a parent...it should also be noted that the school of hard knocks had some heavy lessons in each as well. Good RED Friday RP.
