VA’s $16 billion medical records overhaul could triple in cost

Veterans Affairs officials announced Wednesday they will delay the planned deployment of the department’s new electronic medical records to sites in Idaho amid concerns the $16-billion project could be endangering veterans and may triple in cost.
Senate lawmakers said the latest postponement — and other promised fixes to the training and deployment process — don’t go far enough to acknowledge the deep-seated problems with the system, some of which may not be reparable.

Veterans Affairs officials announced Wednesday they will delay the planned deployment of the department’s new electronic medical records to sites in Idaho amid concerns the $16-billion project could be endangering veterans and may triple in cost.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL I have a hard time believing it cost sixteen billion of our tax dollars to overhaul the records system and now they are talking about triple this cost? Holy $hit Batman! Where is all that money going to?

Being a Victim of Our VA (Health Care?)
I'd Recommend Staying Healthy.
If You DO Become Ill, However;
I'd Recommend Your Waiting Until You're 65 & Have Medicare.
My Reasoning:? The VA Damned Near KILLED Me...
Actually; And According To The ER, 3-6 Hours Away From Death.
THEN After Surgery, Not Expected To Be Alive The Following Morning...
ALL Due To A Large Volume Of Serious Errors, Including Diagnosis & Totally Wrong Medications
I Even Had Emergency Surgery, Spent A MONTH In The Hospital.
Extended Daily Home Nursing Visits And Injections Of More Medication ,ETC ETC ETC....
With Now Having PERMANENT Disabling Conditions
Every Tooth In My Mouth FELL Out Due To UN-Diagnosed Infections
Now Around 20 Years Worth Of being Disabled.....SO FAR

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney That's a definite V.A. horror story. If all you teeth fell out due to their incompetence the V.A. should be paying for implants and not just cheap dentures. Hate to hear of you experience with the V.A. Brother. Hopefully you are ok now.
