PO1 H Gene Lawrence - Who do you suppose was the main organization lobbying in support of the National Firearms Act of 1934?
Which organization president testified to congress "I have never believed in the general practice of carrying weapons. I seldom carry one. [...] I do not believe in the general promiscuous toting of guns. I think it should be sharply restricted and only under licenses."
Who do you suppose was the main organization lobbying in support of the Federal Firearms Act of 1938?
The NRA also supported the Gun Control Act of 1968.
AFTER the public reaction to the GCA, the NRA suddenly discovered the right to keep and bear arms -- not really as a guiding principle but mostly as a fund-raising and recruiting gimmick. The NRA wants to fight for our rights, because it is good for business, but the corporate leadership has absolutely no interest in winning that fight because that would put them out of a cushy job.
Note that after the Republican hat-trick in 2016 the NRA went practically silent -- with no serious lobbying for either national reciprocity or the Hearing Protection Act. In fact the only thing that the NRA did lobby for was the Bump Stock Ban.

Massachusetts, a harsh liberal state, is in process enacting a law that will impose the adding of serial numbers to all internal components of certain firearms, mainly assault style rifles like the AR-15... Another way of "Controlling" our firearms... If the serial numbers don't match and were not sanctioned by law, penalties will be leveled against the owner! I am sure it will spread to other firearms down the road...

Don't see what that will accomplish, but inconvenience the owner, and most likely that's the purpose, a deterrent not to own a firearm.
I guess, some people just don't have anything else to do, but, try to make everyone around them, annoyed.
Many, feed off the negativity.

SGT (Join to see) - I believe what the State government is trying to do is prevent (to some degree) from modifying a firearm or making it so difficult people won't do it... It amazes me that lawmakers always make it hard for the citizenry, while those that are part of the criminal element don't give a D@mn and will do whatever they want... Just saying...

Sgt (Join to see) - I know, the law abiding are punished for the criminal element.
When I grew up, a firearm was a tool, living around the farm and house, now it's a tool, to live on, or leave your farm and house.
I think, to end it all, just not have firearms, get ride of them all, and replace it with a Laser gun. Now that, I'll trade any day. "ZAPP"
