The Seattle VA also has a comprehensive pain clinic which offers multiple modalities of pain management. For many, these can be effective tools.

Good News. Damn Opioids and synthetics like Oxy are so damn addictive and really don't do much for pain anyway.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Brother they can be if you let them control you. I have had to take them since 2000. 13 of those years was while I was still active duty and I deployed 5 times in that time frame also. IMO a person needs to be disciplined enough to know when and when not to take them. I need them but can live without them. I rarely took them when deployed and when I was in 2IC of the Police Station at Ft. Bragg.

Glad to hear that you conquered that system. I only have one experience with them, it was after a tooth extraction and it didn't do much for the pain but just knocked me out. I'd rather drink. My son has several operations for Leg Calve Perthus and they gave it to him after each one with one of those buttons. He figured out the same thing I did. Just makes him go to sleep. Yes I certainly did. Sgt Kelli Mays there are a number of alternatives to opiods. I spent a fair amount of time on opiods and I hated the itching, constipation and periodic hallucinations of opiods.
I have been taking gabapentin for 7 years supplemented with Tylenol for the past year [same principle as adding Tylenol to opiods which exponentially increases the analgesic effects].
