I just love the warthog, may look ugly but I bet that when troops are pinned down, it's the most beautiful thing in the world. And great sound track.

Worked the A-10 for 11 years and I have worked F15 and 16s. I have worked several other air frames, but the A-10 is the best damn war pig out there. I have witnessed these coming back full of holes, missing pieces of the wings, flight controls, you name it. Speed tape and spit them back together and off to reign hell on someone else another day. Putting them to the Crue....deadly.

Cpl Scott McCarroll - I never heard that, I don't know why they would. It is by far the best damn air ground support platform the military has, well in my opinion at least. I always wondered why the Marine Corps never adopted them.

I thought that they did, but I served between 73-80. Cpl Tom Surdi however seeing how the Marine Corp gets most of the our equipment 5 to 10 years after all the other service branch. LoL

Cpl Scott McCarroll - Well, the A10 was originally built as a tank buster, that's not exactly the Marine Corps mandate. However, the Warthog is perfect for close air support of troops. I've seen a few Warthog fly bys in my time during joint training ops. There is nothing like seeing a Warthog fly low and slow over your area, a most awesome sight to behold. The A10 serving the Marine Corps always seemed perfectly natural to me.

Have been trying to phase it out for years Cpl Scott McCarroll during the original SALT talks Russia wanted them gone. Why? Effective. Not sexy anymore
