That is interesting TSgt Joe C. while the AFL–NFL merger may be non-contentious to some in that 1966 merger was akin to the end of the US Civil War where the north authorized and managed reconstruction of the south :-)

LTC Stephen F. I am sure in the end money won out- USFL had big money backing and couldn't make it. They had the same beginnings as the AFL- wonder what made one work and the other fail?
