When I was stationed in West Berlin in 1976 and we went to the East we could still see holes bomb caters and people were so passive that we had people with rulers, measuring tapes trying to copy our uniforms. So as the film says maybe it would have been better if the Americans would have taken Berlin, the losses of the Russians were more than what Americans were willing to give, just like with Japan. In the end the Americans still came out the winner
