William Henry Pratt (23 November 1887 – 2 February 1969), better known by his stage name Boris Karloff, was an English actor who was primarily known for his roles in horror films.[2] He portrayed Frankenstein's monster in Frankenstein (1931), Bride of Frankenstein (1935), and Son of Frankenstein (1939), which resulted in his immense popularity. He also appeared as Imhotep in The Mummy (1932).
His best-known non-horror role is as the Grinch, as well as the narrator, in the animated television special of Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966). For his contribution to film and television, Boris Karloff was awarded two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Yep, pretty much; but he performed on stage, screen and television. Neat episode on the show Route 66 where Boris, Peter Lorrie and Lon Chaney show up as themselves. All of them were beyond their best years and the episode was very tongue and cheek but fun to watch.

Mr. Karloff suffered great physical injury during the filming of Frankenstein. The director Whale after a dispute during filming made Boris carry Colin Clive uphill ( in the finale scene filmed that day)over and over again just to be spiteful. Karloff was not provided with a dummy and he did take after take till the shooting stopped at 5:00AM. Mr. Kaloff started the day at 3:30AM sitting for his makeup to be applied.
