All they need to do is partner with the ongoing DOE research and adopt their advanced motor technology that utilizes High Temperature Supper Conductors (HTC). Yes like the Admiral says a complete redo of all Hull, Mechanical, & Engineering systems with this tech in the Flight IV Burkes. The entire main distribution network could be kept HV DC with HTS wire. The coolant used to cool these main bus bars to the propellers, Radar, Lasers, rail gun ect could then be used to cool the people spaces and electronics before being returned to the main spaces to be cooled and circulated back through all the HTS systems. Don’t throw the hull away and start all over, by adopting this technology the will see a ten fold increase in power density and a significant reduction in weight over current electrical systems. I blows my mind that our AC electrical distribution systems are the same basic technology that was introduced in the late 1800s. We should have stayed DC now we convert everything back.
