I expect President-elect Donald Trump will be able to find money for increased military funding of equipment, sustainment, pay and service for service members and their families SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.
1. Reducing the funding of HHS since they will not have oversight over national healthcare should open up tens of billions of dollars for a start. Reducing IRS infrastructure which fines people without healthcare will add a little.
2. Ending NAFTA, placing tariffs and removing all tax breaks on US owned-companies which conduct manufacturing off-shore to send it back to the USA because labor had been cheaper will bring in additional revenue.
3. Reducing the top tax rate for businesses to 15% will enable hiring of many more people and expand our manufacturing and services base as well as adding more taxpayers to the workforce.
4. Deporting two million or so violent illegal alien felons will reduce government expenditures in basic services as well as prison overcrowding. This will help many troubled areas support their citizens versus illegals.
5. Ending favorable relationships with nations that won't accept deported illegal aliens will most likely drive back some of those citizens to those nations. This will reduce costs of services.
6. Any illegal aliens who take the path to become citizens will move from burdens to taxpayers with reducing burden on our infrastructure.

The government could find extra funding sources for the defense of our nation through the use of more stringent accounting principles, closure of loopholes in tax policy, deporting more violent non-citizen felons, remove the great black hole of spending in the health industry, trim the top portions of general officers in all of the branches of the military and other bureaucracies, and other ideas that come apparent when the new administration is sworn into service.

Will depend on accession standards as well. Are we going to expand at the cost of discipline and good morale?
