I was working outside the hangar when a P3 B and an Ames surveillance aircraft were vectored to the same flight path and collided and crashed into the golf course across 101 from the hangar. That was a terrible sight. An airman in the aft end of the P3 was thrown free of the P3 when it crashed, because he was not strapped in. All other crew who were strapped in, perished. The crew of the Ames craft all died as well.

Plans underway to restore iconic Hangar One starting next year
A massive effort by Google to restore one of Mountain View's iconic dirigible hangars is expected to begin next year, aimed at replicating Hangar One's original design and appearance as closely as possible.
Just a thought perhaps if the City of Edmonton saw How Denver. CO handled the use of an old hanger also of WWII Vintage on another very large airfield now also gone they might get some ideas.
