Thanks TSgt Joe C. for reminding us that on February 8, 1777 just six months after his release as a prisoner-of-war, Major Timothy Bigelow became a colonel of the 15th Massachusetts Colonial Line of the Continental Army.
He fought gallantly at the Battle of Saratoga in October 1777, the Battle of Monmouth in June 1778 and the Battle of Yorktown in October 1781.
Sadly he died in debtors prison after on March 31, 1790
