Grace Barnett Slick (born October 30, 1939)[1] is an American singer-songwriter, musician, artist, and former model, widely known in rock and roll history for her role in San Francisco's burgeoning psychedelic music scene in the mid–1960s. Her music career spanned four decades, and involved the Great Society, Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and Starship, as well as a sporadic solo career. Slick provided vocals on a number of iconic songs, including "Somebody to Love", "White Rabbit", "We Built This City" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now".

Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for reminding us that today is the 78th anniversary of the birth of American singer-songwriter, musician, artist, and former model Grace Barnett Slick.
I enjoyed the Jefferson Airplane band but switched to Hot Tuna after the band split. Jefferson Starship was too pop for my tastes.
White Rabbit was a hauntingly beautiful song to me in the mid-1960s for me.

Saw her with Starship in 1979 I believe, one of my first concerts. I liked the male lead singers voice, together they took it to another level. White Rabbit, and the Stones "Paint It Black" are both my favorite 60's songs.
