I am glad that Gunny has his new show called 'Gunny Time' on the outdoor channel.
I am glad he is kicking around at age 72. Do you remember his show Mail Call? I have 2 seasons of his old show that is still very relevant today.

I'd be interested to know how he figures it was due to his politics vs. a need for his type of roles played? Many actors get typecast into a certain type of actor, and it can last for a very long time.

Agreed. He is pretty limited to Military Guy and Creepy Chainsaw Massacre Sheriff Guy.
Bob Denver hardly worked after Gilligan's Island. Shatner did not embrace CPT Kirk as he thought it would ruin him this way too.
R Lee Ermy has had a great run.

I didn't know that was him on TX chain saw. I know he's the pilot in Apocalypse now. The rest of those are really surprising. CPT Kirk? Who wouldn't want to be him? Kirk is the ONLY one in the cosmos that actually gets to handle his business and it's never considered fraternization.
