Henry Kissinger and North Vietnamese diplomat Le Duc Tho are awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating the Paris peace accords. Kissinger accepted, but Tho declined the award until such time as “peace is truly established.”

Thanks for reminding us SP5 Mark Kuzinski of a time when the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded for work instead of mere words.
I expect Henry Kissinger was doing his best in the circumstances but in hindsight North Vietnamese diplomat Le Duc Tho demonstrated wisdom in declining the award until “peace is truly established.”
