Thanks SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL for mentioning and honoring Vietnam War USMC veteran Jack Hinkle.
I am glad to learn that he has the personal courage to be able to share his struggled with PTSD and the deplorable way so many in this nation responded to returning veterans in the 1960s and 1970s.
Bitterness seemed endemic.
I remember going to airports in 1974 and 1975 while the Hare Krishna devotees would be dancing around in saffron robes. In those days many people gave me bad looks as I was wearing either Class A's or starchable khakis. I was somewhat surprised at the animosity towards soldiers in general.
Kudos to Jack Hinkle.
