In this matter I certainly do not concur with maverick Senator John McCain who distanced himself from President-elect Donald Trump SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.
On the one had he decries the effective cut of $12 billion in the Defense budget and on the other he wants to pass a year long budget instead of passing a continuing resolution.
Spending bills originate in the house per the US Constitution.
I concur with House Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers and Republican leaders in both congressional chambers making the decision to not "move forward with any long-term spending bills for the rest of this year, because that could restrict funding plans for President-elect Donald Trump’s new administration. Instead, lawmakers plan to pass a budget bill extending fiscal 2016 levels until April 2017, halfway through the new fiscal year."
I expect that President Donald Trump will raise the priority of DoD and the Military Services and reduce the priority of HHS in both budget and emphasis in comparison with the PPOTUS Obama administration priorities.

LTC Stephen F. McCain needs to retire and maybe involved, inside the inner-circle of this administration. Perhaps to glean information from Congress..

CW5 Charlie Poulton - I concur with you. In the past he did much good for this nation. I would like to see him retire before he makes a complete fool of himself.

This whack-a-mole funding style through CRs just makes political games more likely and increases the likelyhood of these last minute govt shut down stalemates.
