Thank you my friend SGT (Join to see) for reminding us about the beginning of the Anglican Church which was led by England's King Henry VIII.
Yes Pope Clement VII excommunicated King Henry VIII on July 11, 1533 because Henry VIII requested annulment of his marriage to Catherine of Aragon because she did not produce an heir for Henry VIII.
The excommunication did not affect Henry VII in any meaningful way and it reduced the coffers of the papacy in Rome.
Yes Henry had his marriage to Catherine declared void and married Anne Boleyn in January of 1533 which resulted in his excommunication by Clement on July 11 of the same year. Sadly Anne would be beheaded for failing to produce a male heir to the throne. However Ann did birth Elizabeth on September 7, 1533 at the Palace of Placentia. Elizabeth become Queen Elizabeth I and ruled from 17 November 1558 – 24 March 1603.
Henry VIII decides to divorce Katherine of Aragon (Carlos, rey emperador)
England's alliance with Emperor Charles V breaks when Charles decides to choose another bride instead of Mary Tudor and doesn't share his victory over France with King Henry VIII of England. Thus, Henry no longer sees any benefit from his wife, Charles's aunt, Katherine of Aragon, who also failed to give him a son and heir, and decides to ask for the annulment of their marriage.
'Carlos, Rey Emperador' is a Spanish TV series about the life of Charles of Habsburg, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Spain, the most powerful man in his time.
