Yea, $500 for a knife seems a bit much. It looks great. There will be knock offs if it is successful for a lot less. I don't read a lot of stories about people fending off an attacker with a knife. I am sure it happens occasionally but a knife requires the will to kill (or wound) someone up close and personal. Most folks do not have the stomach for that.
