SSG Robert Mark Odom one thing I remember from my time as an enlested is "good order and accountability" sealed the ranks and ensured respect, loyalty, and compliance. This is a bad day for the Navy and the United States Armed Forces.

Truth. Either from internal or external influence. Mine was a promotion bottleneck for next rank, and I don't mark time longer than I have to. Knew it was time besides.

That’s one of the responsibilities of a commander (at any level); do what’s correct. Obviously, this two star felt he was correct in his initial actions as displayed by publicly disagreeing with the president. As military leaders, we know the potential outcome when we commit to these types actions. I can’t say I agree or disagree with his position (I’m not read into all the pertinent facts), but I respect his convictions. Based on his personal convictions and accomplishments, he should have very little trouble gaining follow on employment outside of the active duty military.
