Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on April 29, 1974 President Richard Nixon announced to the public that he will release transcripts of 46 taped White House conversations in response to a Watergate trial subpoena issued in July 1973.
My mother was glued to the household black and white TV during the Watergate hearings. I was in my final year of high school and had long ago resolved to enlist in the US Army by this point.
