Thanks for reminding us SP5 Mark Kuzinski that on October 4, 1966 Pope Paul VI addressed 150,000 people in St. Peter’s Square in Rome and called for an end to the war in Vietnam through negotiations.
Of course the NVA and VC paid no heed to this call but many USA citizens were duped into believing that a one-sided desires for peace at all costs was comparable to Neville Chamberlain's approach less than 30 years earlier when he went to Munich in 1938.
