I think I paid $125 for my Remington 870 over forty years ago, and while I have modified it for home defense, I haven't spent that much on it.

I purchased mt 870 either in '79 or '80. I have taken doves, skeet (got to marinate them forever), and deer. One of these years I may actually trick it out.

I don't have a 870, but I still have my first owned gun that I bought at the Anderson AFB Guam exchange in 1969.
It's a Browning Auto-5, 12 gauge, made in Belgium, it has some surface rust due to my father loaned it to an uncle when I was in the Army, he didn't take care of it.
It cost me $156, then working at the Anderson AFB commissary warehouse for $0.75 an hour, I had to save every paycheck for 5 months.

SGT Steve McFarland - Not mine now, when new it was a bright blue, gold trigger, and has engraving on it. I have to get a new barrel, because one day I was shooting slugs and one slug came out the side of the barrel about 6" from the front.
I guess, the warranty has been expired by now. Lol
