The "Colonel's" Motivational/Inspirational Quotes and Message of the Day!
I've found you can learn a lot about a person simply by asking them what is important to them. What they say and how quickly they come up with the answer(s) tells you a lot about them and their values.
As we mature, what is important to us tends to change or perhaps evolve; when I speak with the dying, no one ever seems to talk about their work success; they speak about their relationships or what they are most proud of accomplishing. It's always an interesting eye opening conversation.

I pray that the LORD blesses each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer with clarity of focus on what our priority of effort, talents and resources needs to be. Lord I pray that YOU enable us to see clearly and hear clearly what YOU know we should do – day-by-day and hour-by-hour. For most of us improving personal relationships is near the top if not the most important for each of us. ‘Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. [Philippians 2:3-4 ESV]
I pray LORD that each person who reads or listens to this prayer is grateful for YOUR atonement on the cross and the fact that YOU have justified each one of us from the guilt and penalty for all sin – past, present and future. I lift the unsure, the spiritually immature, those with short attention spans to YOU LORD. I pray that they and each one of us take to heart ‘Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.' [Psalm 51:10-12 ESV]
I am thankful LORD that YOU designed each of us to heal. By YOUR grace we build up immune responses to what we are exposed to as a general rule. I pray that YOU bless the individuals and teams working to develop the vaccines and treatments for SARS-CoV-2 and related diseases with knowledge, wisdom, patience, and sufficient skill to understand what needs to be done and the endurance to do what needs to be done, step by step.
I pray YOU restore health for the vast majority of those afflicted with SARS-CoV-2. I pray that YOU bless those who are distraught, suicidal, and even homicidal with tangible hope. Give them eyes to see the open door that YOU want them to walk to and through.
I pray that you and I heed the admonition of the LORD, consistent demonstration of Biblical love is the most important to the LORD. HE reminds us in 1 Corinthians 12 & 13:1 that without love we are equated to a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
a. 1 Corinthians 12:26-31 ESV ‘Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.
b. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 ESV ‘If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.’
c. 1 Corinthians 13:4-12 ESV ‘Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Saturday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Sunday morning.

“What is important to you, may not be important to others. Always keep that in mind before passing judgment about someone or something they are doing. If they have a purpose and drive for something that is important to them, then they have that ‘I Can’ attitude. That reminds me of this quote…
“I CAN” is 100 times more important than “I.Q.” — Unknown Author
May you always find out what is most important to you and go for it; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
