Good Sunday morning Col Burroughs and Posse from an overcast Northern Virginia. I am kind of hoping we get a bit more rain today; I can tell the lawn can use it.
Shakespeare knew what he was talking about even in prose...be true to yourself. All sorts of unpleasant things happen when we fail to take who we really are into account. Like telling the truth rather than lying, it's easier to be who you are, there is less to remember and it saves emotional energy. You don't have to worry that someone is with you because they like who you are pretending to be. Your team will appreciate your authenticity. Be yourself!

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Thanks for sharing with us this morning and the additional quotes... we are heade dnorth today to look atwo proerties that we may potentially build on and then headed up to Texas Grand Ranch to see a model home that a builder we're considering to use has on display today... fun day and the weather is hot...

“Never compromise who you are and what you stand for. Always stay true to your values and character. Don’t be what others want or think you should be. That remind me of this quote…

‘Stay true to yourself. You will respect yourself for that.’ – Unknown Author

May you always stay true to your beliefs, goals, and yourself most of all; may you find new friends that will support you and be there for you when you need them; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that your conscience has guided you to do what is right since you were young. In all likelihood, you are spiritually mature to be honest and yet compassionate to not deliberately hurt somebody’s feelings. Hopefully you and I are sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and quick to confess and repent when we deliberately err of accidently sin. Speaking the truth in love is noble and yet challenging. I hope that you and I listen well before speaking and that we speak respectfully to everybody we interact with. ‘From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.’ [James 2:10-11, 13 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

LORD I pray for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer or hears it, is blessed with an increase in truthfulness, compassion, and grace. Empower us to speak and write the truth in love with deference to share without deliberate or accidental insult. I pray that each one of us is growing in grace and wisdom. We understand that ‘the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.’ [Proverbs 9:10] I pray that we increasingly place our trust in YOU as we make our way through these challenging times. I am grateful that YOU guide us day by day and lead us towards the wonders YOU have in store for each of us. ‘Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. [Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV]
LORD I lift each of your adopted sons and daughters who are husbands or wives to YOU. I pray that we are each faithful to our spouse in word, thought and deed. I pray that when we make inadvertent errors in judgement, we are quick to confess, seek your help to repent. I pray that we are quick to offer forgiveness to our spouse. ‘Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.’ [James 5:16 ESV]
I pray for safety, repentance, forgiveness and a resurgence of peace in homes where strife increases during the holidays. I pray that parents who abused children and children who abused parents genuinely confess and repent and seek forgiveness from those they abused.
I pray for courage for citizens of this and other nations were radicals and anarchistic socialists are threatening the integrity of families and faith in God as foundations of society. Give each of us endurance and confidence in YOU. Give us courage in the face of risk of physical death for our hope is in YOU. 'Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.' [1 Peter 3:15 ESV].
I thank YOU LORD that YOU reward each sincere searcher for truth with an increase in wisdom as YOU lead them towards the absolute truth of YOU. ‘And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.’ [Hebrews 11:6 ESV]
I lift those adopted sons and daughters of YOUR who are earnestly praying for salvation for their loved ones to YOU. I pray that YOU bless most with good news about the individual(s) they have been interceding for before the end of January 2021. ‘The end of all things is at hand; therefore, be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.’ [1 Peter 4:7-10 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members slept well Sunday night and will awoke refreshed and healthy on Monday morning.

Good “Sunday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from what looks to be another very hot day here in SW Florida with high humidity making it feel like 102°!!! I think this is going to be either a beach or pool day for my wife and I

Today is: “Stay True Day!” Why Not?

"To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.” – William Shakespeare

“Be who you were created to be, and you will set the world on fire.” – St. Catherine of Sienna

“Be true to yourself. Make each day a masterpiece. Help others. Drink deeply from good books. Make friendship a fine art. Build a shelter against a rainy day.” – John Wooden

“To be one's self, and unafraid whether right or wrong, is more admirable than the easy cowardice of surrender to conformity.” – Irving Wallace

“When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everyone will respect you.” – Lao Tzu, Chinese philosopher

“Don’t let others box you into their idea of what they think you should be. A confined identity is a miserable way to exist. Be you and live free. Trust that in living true to yourself, you will attract people that support and love you, just as you are.” – Jaeda DeWalt

“You must have control of the authorship of your own destiny. The pen that writes your life story must be held in your own hand.”– Irene C. Kassorla

What is true for the many is also true for the few! So...

“Stay true to your values, character and integrity as a leader – there is no room for compromise!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
