Good morning my Rally Point Family. I would like to focus on what God has to say about your word. I had thought about turning this into thinking more about God’s Word than our own, but when I began looking I found that God’s Word has many things about us keeping our word. I would like to offer just a few words from God’s Word about that. As you read the verses I’ve selected please realize that keeping your word is important for our Spiritual life. Have a Blessed Day.

1 John 2:5 ESV

But whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him:

Matthew 5:37 ESV

Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.

Numbers 30:1-2 ESV

Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the people of Israel, saying, “This is what the Lord has commanded. If a man vows a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break his word. He shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.

Ecclesiastes 5:4-7 ESV

When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow. It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay. Let not your mouth lead you into sin, and do not say before the messenger that it was a mistake. Why should God be angry at your voice and destroy the work of your hands? For when dreams increase and words grow many, there is vanity; but God is the one you must fear.

Good afternoon, brother Gene Lawrence -
A fella has to get to these morning missives pretty quick to get out ahead of you.
I read this challenge from Colonel Burroughs a few minutes ago and decided to pontificate a bit on James 5:12 - but thought better of it and read your response first, only to find that you had not selected this scripture today. So I shall continue on my path to do just that but before I do I wish to thank you for the scriptures you did select for the Lord has plenty to say about surety, oaths and the like. There is power in the spoken word that goes well beyond what folks today will consider to be important.
Have a great evening and my best to Linda.

LTC Wayne Brandon - I thank you for the many kind words you give me daily. Most days I am up early or should I say late because of a current sleep problem. Not by choice mind you, but the result of pain issues. I love sharing God’s Word. I miss my ministry with seafarers from around the world, long story. Have a blessed rest of your day.

I pray that you and I work to be true to our words, that we respect each person we come into contact with and that we are becoming more gracious, my friend and brother-in-Christ PO1 H Gene Lawrence and sister in Christ Linda Lawrence.
I thank YOU LORD for YOUR Word which is the bedrock of truth. I pray that we who are YOURs build our lives around the foundation of truth. Enable us to be winsome in relating truth and wise in how we convey the gospel.
Empower us to be more consistent in truth-telling. Let the young ones in our life see us living by our word. Let them see us repent if our word is unfulfilled in any way by us. Let them see us forgive others and work towards reconciliation of relationship.
I pray LORD that YOU empower us to build and if necessary, restore trust. Let us each be mindful that our word needs to be our bond.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

LTC Ken Connolly unfortunately that will never happen. The only thing that they want is to be re-elected, so they can continue to be another form of welfare recipient.

Your word is who you are. And you represent more than just yourself. You are the sum total of your parents and their parents, the organizations you belong to and the region/state/country you are from in the eyes of those around you. You should always take that responsibility very seriously.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs - Yes, Mikel. And it shows in everything you do. Your integrity and devotion to your fellow veterans is an inspiration to all here on Rally Point and beyond. Sorry you are having to deal with more snow, just when you thought spring was here!
