Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs . Very timely topic. We have seen some people stand up and speak what they believe is right in spite of those who have come out both verbally and sometimes physically against them. It takes courage to speak out for what is right and you have to prepare yourself for the reaction. What is the truth you have in your heart that you have not spoken?

In my family I was usually the truth-sayer - sometimes to the point of being almost too blunt. As I have reached my sage years I now use “the truth hurts, honesty is constructive“ :-)
That being said if I know somebody well enough, such as unfortunately a reoccurring admit to the detox unit one of our regulars said “Jenn, man I feel like %&$! What do I do?”
My answer was “UH! Quit doing DRUGS!?” He said “damn! I’ve no response, you’re right”. Most of them know that I’ve been there (alcohol primarily) so I’ve been there, done that & came out the other side. Lol

Good evening my friend and sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.
Heavenly Father YOU have given each of us two ears and one mouth as well as a mind. I pray that YOU bless each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters with reason, logic, wisdom and compassion so that we are free to speak and circumspect in what and how we say it. Help us to restrain the tongue so that it is neither used as a weapon nor for duplicitous purposes.
Help us to bless others as YOU would guide us. Help each of us to be good listeners as well as good speakers and writers. I pray that YOU will use the humble and meek to open the eyes of those wise in their own eyes with grace and mercy.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Sharing the truth only helps you move forward, but not speaking your mind does haunt you.

Good Morning COL. "Speak Your Mind Day" Oh my, that happens when my feet hit the floor....!
Pretty sure you know that though! I think every day should be speak your mind day....
I like this one:
"It's better to speak your mind and tell the truth, than to stay quiet and lie to yourself." — Anonymous
If you see something wrong and don't say something to that person, it is the same as saying it is ok to do it. Don't lie to yourself....
This one is straight to the point....!
"Never be afraid to speak your mind, you have one for a reason." — Sarah Moores
And the flipside....Some folks may get offended when you speak your mind....!
You can't win them all....!!! Have a blast today COL. I am sure going to try...
A good day to your Ladies this morning....Rock the day.

Alan K. The one about lying to oneself! I love that one. I can't lie to myself or others... but I try to convince myself of things my intuition says I shouldn't. I so wish I wasn't always trying to give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe my motto should be: "When in doubt, get the heck out!" COL Mikel J. Burroughs Think so?!
