Good morning Col Burroughs.
I believe what we are seeing in our cities is the opposite of self mastery. We have people being manipulated by the media, by what they are told and they are taking no responsibility for their actions. That's the mark of the immature child..."he made me" "it isn't fair" All reflect a failure to control oneself through mastery of thoughts and feelings and then choosing the appropriate actions. It's easy to react quickly when events (or the media presentation of them) seem very heated; the same is true in our relationships. Are you able to take a step back or are your responses "knee jerk"?

The media also manipulates the masses here in India, too. Although India has British influence in its past, India leans forward towards two centers of gravity; the U.S. and Russia, who were once archrivals, I believe.
The media or paparazzi claimed the precious life of the lovely Princess Di of England during her trip to Paris.
Our media, which enjoys constitutional freedom, is the cause of many disasters and misinformation.
Media must be fair, honest and balanced to remain relevant and pure. Can we ever change media?

I expect you have mastered many critical skills in your life including communicating, learning, imparting knowledge, and work-related tasks. I hope and pray that you and I are increasingly improving in demonstrating our faith, loving others including our neighbors. I expect that the challenge of controlling your tongue is similar to mine in that it is a work in progress by God’s grace, my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.
I pray that you and I listen and think before we respond and that we attempt to reduce tension in conversation with those we love as well as strangers. No doubt you realize that controlling our tongue is one of the most challenging aspect of self-mastery. "So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.’ [James 3:5-6 ESV]
LORD I lift those consumed with anger, hate, jealousy, and lustful desires to execute vengeance to YOU across this nation. Let YOUR light shine in the darkness of the environs of the nightly riots. I pray that YOU save as many of rioters as YOU are willing and that YOU motivate many to turn from desires for wickedness towards helping people in need.
I pray LORD that YOU give each person who is rioting, looting, and assaulting a chance to repent and that YOU bring conviction to many of them and motivate them to turn away from hell-bent destruction toward YOUR light and love.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good “Tuesday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the wispy white high clouds blowing gently across the skies of the Greater Boston Area... We have a nice late summer day with a temp of 60° and a humidity of 67% and an expected high of 78°... “Self-Mastery Day!” Why Not?
1) "One can have no smaller or greater mastery than mastery of oneself." - Leonardo da Vinci
2) "Only one who devotes himself to a cause with his whole strength and soul can be a true master. For this reason mastery demands all of a person." - Albert Einstein
3) "It is only shallow people who require years to get rid of an emotion. A man who is master of himself can end a sorrow as easily as he can invent a pleasure. I don't want to be at the mercy of my emotions. I want to use them, to enjoy them, and to dominate them." - Oscar Wilde
4) "Freedom and happiness come from understanding - and working with - our limits. Begin at once a program of self-mastery. Stick with your purpose. Do not seek external approval. Do not worry about anything outside of your control. The only things you command are your thoughts and actions. We choose our response. Stop aspiring to be anyone other than your own best self: for that does fall within your control." - Epictetus
5) "You will never have a greater or lesser dominion than that over yourself...the height of a man's success is gauged by his self-mastery; the depth of his failure by his self-abandonment. ...And this law is the expression of eternal justice. He who cannot establish dominion over himself will have no dominion over others." - Leonardo da Vinci
“It is an ongoing process to build and cultivate a leader’s self-mastery. It’s part of their personal foundation, creating clarity, courage, conviction, and confidence to be the best leader they can be!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Excellent quotes Sgt (Join to see) - thanks brother and keep this in mind:
"May you continue your journey and path to self-mastery; to become the very best person and leader you can be; may you always remain healthy along that journey, may you have a positive attitude toward life along that journey; and may you keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy along your journey. There is nothing wrong with constantly improving your personal foundation, creating clarity, courage, conviction, and confidence in everything you do through self-mastery. Have a great "Tuesday!" — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

COL Mikel Burroughs good read/share: for the Colonel's Motivational Quotes of the Day. Where the mighty American Bald Eagles roam in the mighty MOUNTAINS OF CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO AMONG THIER EAGLES-NEST. I know the view must be MAGNIFICENT on this day September 1, 2020 as you might glance upon the mighty snow capped mountains headed into the month of October. As you know I would respond a lot throughout the week, but I am full-time DOD employee doing contracts for the Defense Contracting Management Agency. It is good to have some time on my break to respond my friend.
